In 2002 Ron, along with his wife Janine, decided to follow his passion for photography on a full time basis leaving comfortable corporate jobs for the unknown life of a professional photographer.   Niebrugge Images, LLC was born and Ron has never looked back.

Ron’s images have caught the attention of many and he is pleased to have among his clients such businesses as National Geographic, Sports Illustrated, Walt Disney World, Smithsonian, National Park Service, US Forest Service, Sony, Ford and Holland America.

Ron’s images have appeared in many books and publications including Sunset, Alaska Magazine, Audubon, Sierra Club Calendars, Country and Fortune Magazine to name a few.

Several years ago Ron decided he wanted to share his passion of photography with others and began offering photo tours and workshops.   Over the years this has evolved and Ron now offers tours throughout the US and guides tours for others internationally.

When not shooting stock or leading photo tours Ron keeps busy with assignment work.  Past assignments have taken Ron to remote areas of Kenai Fjords National Park on behalf of the Park Service, up a 3000 foot mountain covering a mountain race for Runners’ World, and the luxury resort property of Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage, CA.  Ron is equally comfortable  photographing resort property in a major tourist destination or working with a corporate client as he is working with a biologist in remote parts of the world; and has experience doing both.

A little about Ron personally.  In the mid 1970’s Ron’s family moved from San Diego, CA to interior Alaska in the area now known as the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.  Their move to this vast wilderness developed two passions that have stayed with Ron to this day; his love of the outdoors and photography.  Taking the ordinary and using beautiful natural light to create the extraordinary has been a passion of Ron’s for many years and his love for Alaska is readily apparent in his photographs.

After high school Ron left Alaska to pursue his education.  Receiving his Bachelors in Business from Eastern Washington University and his MBA in Finance/Marketing from University California Irvine.   While in California he met his wife Janine and in 1991 they returned to Alaska, making their home in the coastal community of Seward, Alaska.

Ron enjoys an active lifestyle and when not in the field or leading photo tours you are likely to find him trail running, mountain biking, kayaking or SUP’ing.

Janine grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles in the town of Whittier, CA.  Growing up in a family that valued spending time outdoors camping and fishing, prepared Janine for her future life in Alaska.

Always up for an adventure, Janine embraced the idea of moving to Alaska when suggested by Ron.  So in 1991 they loaded up two cars and hit the road.

Running the office and maintaining the website are Janine’s primary responsibilities.  But she loves to accompany Ron on his “field” trips, and is often the model in many of Ron’s photos.   Janine is usually the first contact for photo tour clients and she enjoys interacting with the clients, answering questions and helping plan trips.

Also enjoying an active life style Janine is a certified Wilderness First Responder.   In the summer she is a part-time guide for a local company, Exit Glacier Guides, leading nature hikes.   Other favorite pastimes include trail running, mountain biking, kayaking and SUP’ing.
