Based in Alaska, Ron and Janine have been making their living with Ron’s photography for more than 15 years! For the past 8 years Ron has offered guided photo trips in Alaska , but they sell out quick. So Ron has put together these self-guided itineraries focusing on some of his favorite places to photograph.
Ron has made Alaska his home for over 40 years! As a professional photographer based in Alaska Ron has traveled and photographed extensively in Alaska including these locations. Ron and Janine know Alaska and how to best maximize your time while here and will put you in the best locations for great photography opportunities. It’s a large state offering a lot of options. Let us take the guess work out and plan your perfect photo inspired vacation.
Our itineraries are flexible and designed to give you an idea of locations, length of trip and the cost. We understand one size does not fit all, in fact we expect you to tweek these itineraries to meet your specific needs and wants. Frills or no frills; lots of excursions, or no thanks I’ll explore on my own, whatever you desire we have you covered. We will help you plan your perfect custom trip.
We make most of our money by negotiating lower rates and commissions, keeping our mark-up as minimal as possible. We understand you could book your trip directly and sometimes save a little money. And that’s cool, we get that. But it takes a lot of time to research and plan a trip, especially one as big as a trip to Alaska. So yes, you may pay a little more using Alaska Photo Tours than going direct, but with Alaska Photo Tours you will have a professional photographer, who has lived and photographed in Alaska for over 40 years planning your itinerary for the best possible photography inspired vacation.

Self-guided photo tours, we LOVE this idea. You might be asking yourself what exactly is a self-guided photo tour? It’s a tour that we put together for you with an emphasis on great places for photography, just like our guided photo tours, but without the guide. We like to call this a photography inspired vacation.
We are very excited about our National Park Combo tour. Denali and Kenai Fjords are two of Ron’s favorite photography locations. These Parks offer diverse photo opportunities and really give you an opportunity to experience all Alaska has to offer with respect to geography and wildlife. They are relatively easy to access making this itinerary more affordable. We have put together a few different itineraries based on this Combo theme so check them out and see what interests you most and get in touch with us. We will take it from there.
